Let’s hear it for Reddam, Bedfordview’s Footballers. Both teams pictured here emerged league winners in the Johannesburg Boys’ Football League. Both final games were played at Reddam Main campus today.
Our U16 team defeated King David 2-1 and our U15 team defeated Edenvale High 2-0. What’s more, most of these players also played for our U16 and U15 Rugby teams during the Rugby season – both teams also emerged winners of the Rugby League earlier this year. A remarkable achievement. Well done, Boys.
Touch Rugby powers on
By Theuns van der Merwe
Another successful year for Reddam House Touch Rugby. Once again Reddam dominated the Eastern Gauteng schools league in Term One by winning five of the six divisions. Reddam was represented by ten teams participating in the boys’ and girls’ divisions respectively.
Our students are excelling at the sport as, again, over forty of our students were selected to represent Eastern Gauteng in the Regional Touch Tournament. Players selected for the A team also played at the Junior Interprovincial Tournament in October.
Reddam has become one of the dominant schools in Touch Rugby and we are proud of this status as Touch is growing at an exponential rate in South Africa.
Reddam House’s first team girls emerged the winners of the JVW School Football Tournament recently. It was a huge achievement as they were pitted against a field of very strong competition. They beat Edenvale High 1 – 0 in the final. Reddam’s goalkeeper, Paige Prince, received the Goalkeeper of the Tournament award. Well done ladies.
