Roger Song shines at Accounting and Maths Olympiads

Roger Song, a Grade 12 Reddam House, Bedfordview student performed with distinction at the 2015 South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA) Accounting Olympiad. Roger emerged the winner of the provincial and national sections of the competition.

What makes his win even more astonishing is that on the morning before he was to write the two-hour second round paper of the accounting Olympiad, he was hard at work writing the third round of the 2015 Maths Olympiad, a four-hour paper. Just a short while later, at 14:00, Roger sat for the second (final) round of the Accounting Olympiad.

Roger was delighted when he received the news of his results. His comment: “I was really tired after both of the Olympiads.”

In the Maths Olympiad Roger astounded everyone by finishing in second place. Congratulations, Roger on an incredible achievement under very difficult conditions.
